Hi we're a party of 7 (4 adults and 2 kids, 6 and 8 yrs old). How many folks fit in an Argo? Do you have any 4-person Argos or ATV on the tour? I thought I saw that there were 'half-day' Argo/ATV adventures.... but, can only fine 2-3 hour rides?!?! Any Denali Argo videos on YouTube or other sites? And, what are your 2016 (Jun) rates? Thanks!

Greetings Lou L! We would love to have your group come out on tour with us! An Argo tour is a great family outing and fun for groups and people of all ages. We can fit up to 2 adults and 2 children in our Argo ATVs (we do restrict the weight in the back of the Argo to 140 pounds. Although the Argo serves as the backbone of our fleet, to add flexibility and more options for our guests, we do have a few other vehicles available. One such vehicle is the Kawasaki Tyrex side by side. This is a 4 seater ATV that has 4 bucket seats with 3 point seatbelt systems, a roof, and windshield. You operate the Tyrex the same way you dive a car, with steering wheel, gas and break pedals. You could choose to use a combination of a few Argos and a Tyrex (we charge the same price for both and the pricing is based of the number of people in your party, not the number of vehicles you take. Also note that Denali Tundra Tours does not pair up riders from multiple groups into a single ATV. Everyone riding in your ATV will be a part of your party). Please feel free to call our office at 907-683-2746 with any questions or for additional clarification. Our Alaskan Argo ATV Adventure is approximately 4 hours long from pickup-dropoff. This includes hotel transfers, safety briefing, issuing equipment such as helmet, audio, rain gear as requested, etc..., vehicle demonstration, and a short time for a light snack and beverage at our Pavilion after returning from the trail. Of the Approximate 4 hour tour, you will spend at least 2 hours out on trail riding the ATVs. You can see a video production of the tour on our website, but unfortunately, we have not yet put together a youtube channel. Our 2016 rates for the Argo tour is $149.50/adults (13+), $85/children (Under 13). Please feel free to reach out to us anytime with any other questions, clarification, or if you would like assistance in booking a reservation. 907-683-2746 (ARGO)
We are going to Alaska in August and are debating a visit to Denali. We are driving to Talkeetna and flying around Mt McKinley, then driving back to Anchorage and down to Seward for a cruise to Vancouver. My question is whether it is worth going to Denali. It is a lot of extra time and I haven't read anything to suggest the scenery is actually that much more unique or sensational than other parts of Alaska we will be driving through or the coast we will see when we cruise south. Thanks in advance.

Hi. This is Craig Pollock, one of three partners in Danali Tundra Tours. There are some spectacular views of Denali and its nearest neighbors along the road north of Talkeetna. Things have been pretty smoky recently however. . . Also, right before Cantwell, you pass through summit territory for Alaska range at that location, which is kind of neat. The Denali Park Road itself is extremely popular and represents your best chance to see wolf, moose, caribou, sheep and bear in the wild. I's a long 8-hour bus ride. If you don't mind that, this ride makes the drive to Denali worth while. Finally, Denali tundra Tours provides Argo tours that are of excellent quality and LOTS of fun. If I had my way, you'd come north from Talkeetna just to take an Argo tour. :-) Whatever you choose, you will have a great trip, I'm sure. Talkeetna, in particular is a wonderful little town. Watch your speeds as you drive north, for example, through Willow.
Is this something we could do if we are staying at Denali Princess Wilderness Resort?
