I would like to know how treacherous is the rafting part of this hike/raft adventure. I can easily hike 5-7 miles but would certainly want to ride the raft on the longer hiking days. However, I am not up for a "scary" adventure. Can you give me some idea as to how rough the whitewater experience is. Also, what if the whole hiking group decides to ride in the raft. Is there room? Thanks. I am in a group of ten scheduled for a trip next September and just want to be prepared.

The river level is pretty low so there is very little treachery. The Coffee Pot was the most hair-raising spot on the river, yet the skill of our guides was phenomenal and gave us lots of confidence! The Coffee Pot lasted all of about 2 minutes! You owe it to yourself to hike AND raft; each experience has its own beauty. 98% of the trip down the river is bucolic and chill. The other 2%? Follow the Guide's directions and it will be awesome! I THINK (I would check with Rogue to be sure) that there would be room for everyone in the rafts if everyone got lazy. ;0
I am thinking of going on the hiking trip in September and am wondering which to choose, Betty or Wiking. there seems to be about a $300 difference, and I'd like to know which would suit me better. Are they the same lodging? etc
