Hi - we travelled there by coach as part of an excursion from our hotel in Bologna, so I cannot really advise on directions except to say that it is easy to reach just off of the A1 Autostrada in the San Lorenzo region. Similarly it would probably be best to see if there's an organised tour in English, or contact them directly. Hope this helps.
