A judge has awarded the Proud Boys' naming rights to Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C.

Gabriel Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church can trace its roots back to 1866. It was built by freed Black families in Cuffeytown, the oldest self-sustaining African American community in Virginia.

The small stone church at 515 S. Sixth St. is one of the long-standing spiritual anchors for Yakima’s Black community.
