A live power line fell across US-131 in Grand Rapids Thursday morning, closing both directions of the highway for a time.

Michigan State Police say that around 8 a.m., a power pole was hit in the train yard in the area of US-131 between Hall and Burton streets. That brought down a live wire across the highway.
