With the creation of the 25-mile-long Zion-Mount Carmel Highway, travelers could tour the Utah national parks in a loop. The now famous Zion-Mount Carmel Tunnel was part of this highway project.
To reach the trailhead, visitors should drive on Zion Mount Carmel Highway (Highway 9) to the east entrance of the Zion-Mount Carmel Tunnel. Hikers will find a small parking lot and a vault toilet.
