Apple is set to unveil a new addition to its iPhone family this week, and the device promises to be more than just an update of the iPhone SE. While details remain under wraps, speculation suggests the new model might not carry the expected iPhone SE 4 moniker.

As for the price, the only leaks there so far are for a new model possibly dubbed the iPhone 17 Slim or iPhone 17 Air (more on which below), but a report suggests this slimmer iPhone 17 model could have a starting price of $1,299 (about £1,000 / AU$1,950).

The new iPhone SE expected to launch this week might not be called the iPhone SE 4, as reports have taken to calling it. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman believes the newest version of the budget-friendly iPhone will be rebranded to fit with the iPhone 16 series,
