I think it's almost as funny as 3 even if the plot isn't hilariously complicated anymore. I never got the criticism that it was weird it was about cowboys. Going back 100 years is s logical next step after 30 years back, going to an alternate present, going thirty years forward, and going to the events of the first film again.
