Mount Yōtei (羊蹄山, Yōtei-zan, literally "sheep-hoof mountain") is an active [2] [3] stratovolcano located in Shikotsu-Toya National Park, Hokkaidō, Japan. It is also called Yezo Fuji or Ezo Fuji (蝦夷富士), "Ezo" being an old name for the island of Hokkaido, because it resembles Mount Fuji.

Yotei-zan (羊蹄山), rising to the west of Nakayama-toge (中山峠), is a mountain of many names. In the Ainu language, it was called Matneshiri, meaning 'female mountain'--counterpart to the nearby Shiribetsu-dake's (尻別岳) Pinneshiri.

Mt. Yotei is affectionately known as "Ezo Fuji" because of its resemblance to Mt. Fuji. Standing at an altitude of 1,898 m, there are four climbing courses that take between four to six hours to complete. Those who ascend to the summit can enjoy panoramic views of the Sea of Japan and the Pacific Ocean.
