2023年1月26日 · They (white lipped pit viper) are general found in southeast Asia, though as far as I can tell the blue variations are almost exclusively found in island ecosystems like Komodo. This picture really doesn't do their camouflage abilities justice, as it does have a much more green hue than it appears against a grey background.

Totally agree. Saw a yellow pit viper (aka eyelash viper) while hiking in Costa Rica. Our guide told us to keep a safe distance. He also said its bite probably would not kill you, just make you very sick and destroy all the flesh around the bite. He described the wounds as something like what flesh eating bacteria would do to you.

Blue insularis are relatively common in the venomous hobby, often called Komodo Island pit vipers. There are plenty of keepers on YouTube who have them, and their color is pretty much this vibrant without editing.

2021年9月5日 · Not saying it's a good idea, but honestly....about 95% of the prettiest/coolest looking snakes are fairly venomous. Wagler's Viper, Eyelash Viper, Gaboon Viper, etc. etc. And many of the remainder are really hard to keep properly, very expensive, have a super-nasty disposition....or some combination of the three.
