CD25 (also known as IL-2Rα receptor or the α-subunit of the IL-2 receptor) is involved in the regulation of T cell function. More specifically, it is encoded by the CD25 region on chromosome 10p15.1, is highly expressed in Tregs, and mediates IL-2 signaling which is indispensable for CD25+CD4+ Treg survival and growth [41].
