Systemic steroids are often prescribed for acute low back pain, although there is limited evidence to support its use. Nonpharmacologic interventions are often utilised as well. Physical therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic manipulation, and traction are all commonly used in the treatment of lumbosacral radiculopathy.

Current treatments include invasive procedures (e.g. surgery and injections), non-invasive procedures (e.g. education, manual therapy, exercise) and pharmacological management (e.g. non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and oral steroids). Often, a combination of interventions may be required.

Interventional treatments for lumbar radiculopathy may include: Physical therapy and/or exercises that are designed to stabilize the spine and promote a more open space for spinal nerve roots are recommended.

2021年1月6日 · Simple lumbar radiculopathy can be surgically managed with a safe and limited operation involving the removal of materials compressing the affected nerve root. Nothing too extravagant is required. In almost all cases, fusion and instrumentation are not required.
