2021年10月24日 · Rune Knight is outrageously OP compared to the other fighter subclasses, especially with the new Giant feats and having the Rune magic based on CON. It’s also by far the most complicated to use due to tracking bonus actions and powers, each of which usually have a minute duration which stack and the targets saving throws every round.

2021年4月24日 · I build a Rune Knight Grappler Varient Human and what I found was the expertise skill feat to give him Double Prof on Athletics was the only feat I really needed. Unarmed fighting style is good but I really didnt want to waste any more ASI than I had to. imho tavern brawler and crusher are unnecessary.

2020年11月1日 · The problem with this is that the Rune Knight runic options each need to be inscribed on an item, and those items (armor, a shield, or weapons) can only hold 1 rune per and must be held or carried (at least, that is for the UA version, we'll see Tashas). That might make it pretty hard to do an unarmed build, at least more complicated.

2021年3月26日 · Satyr/Yuanti for advantage on saving throws vs magic, then Rune Knight 5 (at least) then multiclass into Bard. VHuman isn't the only race to get a feat - tasha custom race gets one too, plus 60 ft Darkvision. They don't have an extra language and skill and have one +2 to one stat vs VHuman's +1 and +1 to any two.

But Rune Knight gets enough additionally features at level 3 that giving it bonus damage per hit is unnecessary. It already has the "get big/better at shoving and grappling" effect, along with short rest runes that are impactful (and proficiency in tools/bonus to particular skill checks, but YMMV wildly from useless to useful with those).

2021年2月12日 · In the Unearthed Arcana version of the Rune Knight, the effect of invoking the Stone Rune would end if the target took damage or if someone used an action to shake them out of it. That wording was removed from the final version to make the Stone rune stronger.

2020年12月19日 · Plus when this rune is coupled with say the Fire Rune you can immediately give the enemy you hit disadvantage on the strength save since the fire rune requires no reaction. Imagine critting while using Giants Might with the storm and fire runes together.

2022年6月12日 · Rune Knight is generally considered the 2nd or 3rd best fighter subclass. Whether it's 2nd or 3rd best depends how many combat encounters you tend to have every day. (Rune Knight is great in long adventuring days, but awkward if there's only a couple combats per day cause they only have so many bonus actions to activate all their abilities).
