Samsung? Ipad? GarminPilot? Foreflight? - Pilots of America
2020年3月4日 · Most Android tablets will include an integrated GPS chip, even many cheap ones. I repurposed an old Samsung S3 for my EFB, but even an ancient Google Nexus 9 will run the Android EFBs just fine. If you are in the Google ecosystem for work, nonprofit, or personal reasons, the Android EFBs will work well.
iPad or Samsung tablets - Pilots of America
2013年3月2日 · The Samsung tablets are good, but the aviation community seems to have jumped on the Nexus 7 with a fervor. They have all the needed hardware (then some), are cheap, and aren't loaded with a bunch of crapware.
Best performing Android tablet for Garmin Pilot - Pilots of America
2020年11月7日 · The big problem with Android tablets is vendor bloatware. Samsung is the only manufacturer still building premium spec'd tablets, and they insist on skinning the interface and installing their own apps for cloud storage, etc. I recently bought a Tab 8" and tried to make GP work on it. Basically unusable.

2017年12月10日 · For those interested in Android tablets, Samsung announced the S4. Looks pretty nice but having a hard time finding a full spec page for it. Annoying: They have decided the initial cellular capable one is Verizon only (fine) but can only be ordered in 64GB of built in storage (boo!) whereas the WiFi variant can be had in 128GB.
Running Garmin Pilot on Android tablet | Pilots of America
2022年10月31日 · Sometimes they are quick, but there are too many occasions twhen they are very slow (sometimes impossible to load) in the cockpit. I am considering a Samsung tablet but from what I was reading ( Up to Oct 2021) the Android version of Garmin pilot is far behind the Apple software and not worth running on an adroid.
Flight planning app that doesn't require Apple device.
2023年1月7日 · I think this is the real issue. GP (usually) runs fairly well on my 10" Samsung, it's the $100 8" tablets that crash & hang. There's just nothing quality available in that size other than the ipad mini. You can get higher quality 10" android tablets, but they're too big (IMO) for the cockpit, and they cost as much as the Apple offerings.

2022年5月13日 · Lenovo, Samsung, and Huawei all make 8" tablets, but they are seriously out of date OS-wise, and the OS can no longer be updated. The Huawei M5 is a beast of a tablet with an incredible screen. Most of the currently available 8" tablets have fairly low-resolution (1200x800) screens. It's too bad, as the 8" screen is a very useful size.
Alternative to ForeFlight? - Pilots of America
2016年4月30日 · Oh well. Garmin Pilot equals it in every possible way. But I don't use tablets in the cockpit. 696 and 430W with all their overpriced database updates work better and more consistently than any tablet. Also keeps that kneeboard space free for the piece of paper I need to write stuff on. Almost ForeGot - Thanks for the emphatic, emphasized ...
Garmin Pilot: Android vs Apple - Pilots of America
2019年12月30日 · I have been using Garmin Pilot on Samsung Galaxy tablets for four or five years now (forget exactly when I started) Recenty I have been given the opportunity to borrow a Gen 5 iPad to test GP. The reason I wanted to do this was because even though I have a very new Galaxy Tab S4, GP just seems to creeeep along and sometimes gets very ...

2018年10月8日 · The nice thing about Android tablets is that virtually every wifi tablet includes internal GPS capability. This means the tablets can act as emergency alternate GPS navigation in the event of total electrical failure. FYI, none of my Android tablets has ever experienced an overheating issue.
