C1740 Rare British Turcael £2450 - Thierry the Sword Guy
A rather spectacular addition to the site, a rare example of a mid 18th century Turcael. These swords are famously hard to find as most basket hilts carry broadsword or backsword blades. The only basket hilted blade harder to find than this is the alehouse dagger.

Basket-hilts with curved blades are often described as being in the Turkish style or more specifically are called a Turk or Turcael. The scabbard is leather-covered hardwood with nickel silver mounts and includes a belt-hook.
