2022年11月4日 · When I worked at Electronics Boutique (EB Games) 20 years ago, the display case on the shelf was the "gutted" copy that was filed behind the counter. I'm not sure who or what started it, this was before the Gamestop merge as well. But, I'm surprised they STILL do it. So many people hated it then, so many people hate it now, and understandably so.

2025年1月2日 · GameStop tried retro stuff multiple times in the past. Every time the end result was lots of stuff getting scrapped making things even rarer. They also did have exclusive physical releases. People will point at the move to digital being the main factor, but it's much more than that. GameStop made a lot of money by having a stream of new releases.

2024年8月28日 · I stopped going to GameStop when I brought them like 500 dollars worth of video game stuff and they wanted to give me like 15 bucks. I got mostly what I expected to receive by selling online instead. I know they have to make money on the things they buy, but their offers were always so ridiculously low.

2025年1月9日 · At this point we are getting leaks that Switch 2 arrived at Gamestop before Nintendo announces it. I get they want go wait for the last second, considering that Switch and especially the games are still selling well, but this is getting ridiculous.

2023年3月14日 · What you don’t hear about are stores getting into trouble for doing it. I remember being at GameStop when NCAA came out and Walmart was selling early copies. GameStop GM called and reported it. The whole thing sucks, but it happens all the time. You also have these developers sending out a lot of copies to famous people and influencers too.

2014年7月27日 · I looked into buying some bundles of PS3 cases on amazon but it turns out that the cheaper method is just buying some used EA sports games at Gamestop. the games were 30-60 cents. I took the game out kept the case and left the disc in front of the store.
