2011年5月5日 · Be sure you buy the old cast iron. It seasons much better than this new stuff thats been made in the past 20 or so years. wagner and griswold are two good brand names but most of the old cast iron is very good too. Once you get it seasoned properly, dont scrub it or wash it with detergents.

2007年8月11日 · I use them for pancakes - I have a griddle & use a second large skillet to keep up with the masses around here. I've used them for baked pancakes & cornbread. And browning hamburger & onions, stir-fry & sausage. (I have a huge 16/18" skillet) If cast iron doesn't stick, they are the world's best. May you now make peace with your cast iron!"

2025年1月20日 · say your trying to hit a squirrel in the head you set the head on the post and an inch is right about the middle of it. with a 22lr I will use a 1 inch square setting on the sight post I want the bullet to impact very close to the middle at 25 yards that will work for 25 nd 50 not trying to cover half the target with sights is my preference

2011年12月26日 · I inherited a rusty old cast iron cauldron that has been used as a flower planter for years. I would like to use it (for a chicken scalder for now) but need advise on how to remove the rust. Can I build a fire in it and burn the rust out? Any advise is appreciated.

2004年11月21日 · Speaking of weight, our old hand dug wells on the family farm were around 80-90 feet deep. Both used 1¼ inch galvanized pipe in them with the sucker rod inside. The well cylinder itself was cast iron as was the check valve. Yes, some weight with all of that. We used a block and tackle with good condition rope.

Examine it carefully for cracks and erosion. This is typically one of the hottest parts of the stove and you're likely to find holes where the iron's been eaten away.

2010年11月23日 · I have a small house too. 860 s.f. with wood floor. I have one of those old time cast Iron woodstove like they use to use in the old days. Oblong with a door in front and two removeable lids on top, short legs on bottom. I get a fire going in it and use up to 22 inch logs in it but I mostly cut 18 inch logs.

2017年1月4日 · Set it on the garage approach Used a compass and marked the angle on the bottom I needed to cut to make it flat. welded some 3/16 plate on the bottom of the legs so they would not sink in the ground. I used some 4 foot 1/2 inch rod I welded a nut on drove thru holes in the plate to hold it in place. Used those huts later for pulling the rods

2024年12月6日 · Kunekune's are such sweethearts. Full size pigs I enjoy having around. But they are powerful and can sometimes be ill tempered. They take a lot of caution. I've seen a sow get grumpy and toss another 500lbs sow 6 feet. On a bad day working at a pig barn, a coworker of mine had her finger bitten off in front of me.
