For Louisiana during the time Alastor is said to be from, those that were Creole were more dark skinned. Closer to modern time now it’s a pretty mixed bag of skin color. Either way, Alastor is confirmed to be mixed but on the lighter end of skin color.

I love how everyone has the same headcanon abt how he looks. Also I'd like to see a whole or at least half a episode of alastor as a human and first without and then with the transatlantic (I think it's called) accent. My headcanon is that he picked it up to be more "accepted" by society because of his ethnicity. It was the 1920s to 30s after all.

Louisiana Creoles’ skin tones can range from dark to tan to very light/white or white-passing depending on their individual heritage, so it’s not guaranteed that Al was dark-skinned ...
