The Sea God (海神 in Japanese) was a creature that lived by a small island that Guts' new party comes across as they travel to Skellig. It was sealed by the merrow long ago and worshipped by the island's inhabitants.

"Sea God (1)" is episode 319 of the Berserk manga series. As Guts ventures deeper into the cave, he notes that the Berserker Armor has endowed him with enhanced night vision, and that the atmosphere within the cave is reminiscent of the Qliphoth.

The sea God arc is fantastic, it really is. It has some fun comedy but also has great lovecraftian homage which we haven't really seen before in Berserk. Sure reading it at the time was FUCKING grim because it took what, 7 years in real time? But on a reread without having to wait for new pages it's a fantastic arc.

Normally it would be weird if the person fighting the Sea god - by fighting its heart - didn't have some permanent damage in his ears but since it's Guts... Actually, it still seems weird: the Sea god and its heart is gigantic compared to previous monsters he had fought.
