Toa Hagah were teams of Toa appointed to become the guardians of a selected Makuta. The Toa Hagah teams were selected by the Brotherhood of Makuta from previously-existing Toa teams. The word "Hagah" meant "guardian" in Matoran, referencing their task.

2025年1月9日 · Makuta Teridax once maintained a team of Toa Hagah as his bodyguards. These six elite Toa, led by Norik, rebelled after discovering that the Brotherhood of Makuta had betrayed the Great Spirit Mata Nui. The Brotherhood captured them, mutated them into the Rahaga, and purged or corrupted the remaining teams of Toa Hagah.

The Toa Hagah were selected by the Brotherhood of Makuta from pre-existing Toa teams based on the merit of their individual accomplishments and were bestowed with metallic armor to differentiate them as elite Toa, and masks in the shape of the masks of legendary Toa by their former comrades.

Norik, Gaaki, Iruini, Pouks, Bomonga, and Kualus were the Toa Hagah team of Teridax. 1,300 years ago, when they discovered the Brotherhood's true intentions, they betrayed them, stealing the Mask of Light from them but being mutated into the Rahi-like Rahaga in the process.
