On the Oregon shore of the Columbia River below is the small delta of Wahkeena Creek and Fashion Reef. As you continue on the loop, switchbacking up three times through the thimbleberries, look for blooming irises along the trail in spring.

Located 1.1 miles up the trail, Fairy Falls plunges only 20-30 feet but offers a charming example of a fan type waterfall. Wahkeena Trail is often combined with the lower 1.2 miles of Larch Mountain Trail #441 (area is unavailable) and the Return Trail for a 4.8 mile loop.

Fairy Falls is a 20-foot waterfall on the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge in the United States. As part of a tributary of Wahkeena Creek, Fairy Falls is located upstream from the much larger Wahkeena Falls. While small, this fan-shaped waterfall is a destination for photographers, mainly because of the scenic view.

Fairy Falls is a quick escape from Portland to recover from a tough workday on a pretty easy 2-mile roundtrip hike. Time it right and catch the sunset from Lemmon’s Viewpoint on the way back. Fairy Falls sits in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge, not much more than a mile from the Wahkeena Trailhead.

2014年10月27日 · The Columbia River Gorge has many beautiful waterfalls worth visiting including Fairy Falls. In order to visit Fairy Falls a moderate hike is in order but well worth the effort. It is a 2 mile hike round trip with an elevation gain of 800 feet.

I continued hiking up the hill to reach my final destination and one of my favorite waterfalls in the gorge, Fairy Falls. While the hike to Fairy Falls is only about 2 miles round-trip, it is very steep.
