2016年6月3日 · Tubenit & Geezer give a try to the 6AK5 and told it is a good tube in guitar amp the 5879 was better so they used the 5879 but here I've found a lot of 6AK5 on the cheap and only few 5879 (that were much more expensive) so I think I wont to try it sooner or after 6AU6 is surely a good tube in guitar amp

2022年9月12日 · excellent timbo, sort of like your second schematic except one triode stage instead of 2 like your 6SN7. i have a 6" 8ohm speaker from a ss combo amp i will use for the internal with a parallel output jack. that way if i plug into another 8 ohm speaker load i will get 4ohm which is the value of the original speaker impedance and what the ot wants.i am going to completely strip the chassis down ...

Another factor: multiband eq, but personally I have not found this to be necessary. In my experience an acoustic guitar through a tube amp sounds great - w/o all the bells and whistles in SS preamps such as delay, chorus, reverb, mic ...

2019年12月5日 · The Fender Champ 5C1 and the Gibson GA-5 Les Paul jr (there are many GA-5 variants) used the 6SJ7 as the preamp in a SE 6V6 amp. Slight differences from the Silvertone. There is a Joe Piazza drawn schematic of the GA-5 LPjr in the Library that is a particularly clean diagram. Any of the 3 should work as the starting point for your project.

I have some left over parts from a '60s tube reverb, including the transformer & power supply that ran a 12AX7 and a 12AY7, 2 sockets, etc. I'd like to build a hi-voltage dual tube preamp for guitar. The old reverb circuit is diode rectified, and that got me thinking about a Marshall-y sounding pre.
