My take away was ritual suicide, but that Pelle deceptively phrased it this way to appear empathetic to Dani, even though Pelle knows that his parents' death and subsequent burning was normal.

I have watched Novum's complete guide to Midsommer 3 times, over the course of this week and have been loving all the explanations and supporting information for connections. I especially liked his explanation for Inga's distress, red features to her last dress and her facial injury. His theory was disturbing and tied many things together.
