Hori pad mini - 1st place. Tribute 64 and Brawler 64 both come in about equally at 2nd place for stick quality, sensitivity, feel and accuracy. Now, all this being said, my personal 1st place over all controllers goes to the original n64 controller new, refurbished, or cleaned in good condition with lube in the stick housing bowl.

2022年1月26日 · Brawler 64 is the best 3rd party controller, been playing n64 since 1997. In particular people who are young and not familiar with the original just find the brawler feels natural. And I like the wired v.2 over the wireless.

The controller’s biggest issue in my opinion is the fact that the controller does not have a select button (seriously every controller needs a select button, there’s no excuse). The control issue with N64 games is largely a “software issue” as you’ll still experience the “same problems” using a different controller.

The controller was weird and the way you held it and the placement of the buttons led to interesting design choices but Nintendo is a toy company first, so their goal was to make it fun just to hold. It has some nostalgic charm to it for sure, but it also just makes N64 games feel right.

2022年7月8日 · Until I can actually buy an NSO 64 controller, I am using the Brawler64 Wireless Edition from Retro Fighters. It is like a hybrid between the Pro Controller and an N64 in that it has the single joystick on the left like a normal Pro Controller and the 4 C buttons plus the A and B on the right in lieu of the other joystick and ABXY buttons.
