The best solution for these is to heat the exposed end to a dull red for a few minutes until the heat wicks down to the buried end and relaxes the pin's temper and tension.

2006年10月23日 · Of course, make sure you are hitting the little end and use a punch that is as close to the diameter of the end of the pin as you can find. If you use a smaller punch, it will often just mushroom the end of the pin, turning it into a rivet. Needless to say, a punch bigger than the end of the pin just kind of mashes everything together.

Ford sells a special removal tool that works a lot like an easy out, only the tool stinks. Instead, I drive a piece of mild steel (read: finishing nail) into the hollow end of the pin and then grab it with a Vise Grip dent puller.

2012年11月11日 · Basically, the smaller piece threads into the larger piece and the pin is driven in to keep them from unthreading. The pin isn't positively locked on the smaller, internal piece, the hole is slightly loose, and I can "wiggle" that piece. The pin is driven tightly into the other part, but it's driven flush with the top of the flange.
