2019年11月19日 · The tank bolts I am familiar with have the bolt head on the inside of the tank and on the outside (bottom face) of the toilet, the nut. There is not an obvious place to cut a rust-damaged bolt (one that cannot have the nut removed) that would separate the tank from the bottom half as far as I can tell.

2020年6月9日 · Somewhere I have a set of steel bolts for a toilet tank. They, with rubber washers, were cheaper than rubber washers alone (or else there were no rubber washers alone, I can't recall now.) I did not use those bolts, as the bolts on the toilet were brass and far better than the new ones, 40 years on - just the rubber had deteriorated.

2015年4月20日 · But the toilet has no floor mount nuts/bolts or covers or anything. 2 different flooring guys couldn't match the non-slip semi-clear Ceramic tiles that cover the bathroom floor and stairs to it. I talked to the people who were supposed to have recolored the toilet. but their paper work says they refused the job because the toilet was unmovable.

Sit on the toilet backwards (facing the tank - so you can see and reach the nuts) to squish the ring in place sealing the toilet to the flange on the floor. Tighten the nuts on the closet bolts (that attach to the flange) such that the toilet is flat on the floor without rocking. Tighten it down a bit on one side then the other, then do it again.

2020年6月7日 · My toilet tank is held in place by two screws, which have rusted so much that the shape in their head is almost completely disappeared. On the opposite side, they are held in place by two wingnuts made from plastic. I tried to losen one of them with pliers, but that only ended up in one wing breaking off.

2024年4月13日 · The toilet should reset flat and without rocking before you put the bolts on. Silicone around the front and sides of the toilet to keep it and the shims from moving relative to the floor. THEN add the bolts, and not too tight, to keep the flange and wax ring aligned over the long term. The bolts are not holding the toilet to the floor.

2012年5月4日 · We have a really old toilet in one of our bathrooms which has started to leak around the tank bolts. I was going to replace the bolts and washers but the nuts are completely seized and rusted to the bolts. Due to placement I can only get about a 1" draw on a hack saw (which doesn't really cut well) so I can't easily cut them that way.

2017年6月29日 · However, I'm still having a similar leak on the left side of the toilet. I've made sure the toilet bowl is centred and up right. It's not dripping by the bolt anymore, but next to it. When I traced where the water was coming from, it came from the toilet tank where the bolt and gasket was covering.
