2020年6月10日 · I've been using my USB-to-Serial adapter for years until it suddenly stopped working yesterday. When I plug it in, I don't see any changes in the Device Manager. The device works fine on another laptop. It's as if I mistakenly turned off my Comm Ports or something. The Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port remains greyed out.

2024年2月29日 · Look for any devices with a yellow exclamation mark or under "Other devices" that may indicate a problem with the adapter. Right-click on the problematic device and select "Update driver" to see if Windows can find a compatible driver. Uninstall and Reinstall Driver: Uninstall the current driver for the USB to RS232 adapter.

2017年9月28日 · The hub has nothing to do with this. Same issue with hub or direct from the Surface USB port: Dozens of normally good USB to RS232 adapters don't work (older chip, no doubt). But I have found 3 that do (hub or not, either way). Yes, I can recommend those 3 types as good with W10 and Surface. Even with no hub.

2023年5月16日 · I would like to ask if there is any difference in RS232 access between Winosws 10 and Windows 11 operating systems (both PRO versions). On the same HW HP ProBook 650 G4, the sw under Windows 10 connects the device without a problem, but in Windows 11 the sw reports to me that the port is occupied and subsequently does not connect the device.

2024年9月4日 · I'm using a CH340 usb serial converter which is working fine on windows 10 but not in Windows 11, even if it seems ok in device manager. I can not open a com... I have read that it is possible to redirect it to a virtual serial port ot make it running. Which free tool can I use or does a fix exist without redirection ? Thanks for your support

2010年5月6日 · 2) Right click on the USB to serial adapter 3) Select properties 4) Select the details tab 5) Look at the hardware IDs Then do a search online for whatever USB\VID&PID value you see there. You can leave off the REV part. For example, if you see USB\VID_0409&PID_005A&REV_0100, you would search online for USB\VID_0409&PID_005A.

2024年1月14日 · You will open the device manager and remove all drivers for the RS232 to USB Adapter in the Serial Port and USB Controllers tab and mark to delete the driver. Disconnect the USB to RS232, open the on command prompt (admin) run: sfc /scannow , wait for the process to finish and restart the computer.

2020年12月21日 · The problem we have is that we need to connect these new Surface Pro X's to meter readers using a USB-c to RS232 serial adapter. I have tried many different ones and keep running into an issue with tablet. When the cable is connected physically, it is constantly connecting/disconnecting.
