Gohan didn't unlock ssj2 with a rage boost. It was more of an.. it's ok moment. He felt helpless and was definitely angry at what was happening. But it was more the fact that he let go of his reservations. I always thought it would have been good for vegetas attack to damage cell, cell regenerate and mock vegeta.
