Castaic Lake is the largest state water project reservoir in Southern California and contains over 11,200 total acres of parkland and open space habitat. Park gates are open from sunrise to sunset, and admission to the park ends an hour before closing.

Castaic Lake Lagoon offers a wide variety of recreational activities, including fishing, picnicking, camping, non-gasoline powered boating and swimming during summer only.

On Friday and Saturday nights, the Friends of Castaic Lake offer split firewood for sale at the campground. Keep an eye out for their trailer making rounds between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
