The jutsu that is often taught in the academy is called Bunshin no Jutsu, aka the move that Naruto sucked at. The one that was in the scroll in the beginning was the Kage Bunshin no Jutsu, invented by the 2nd Hokage.

Kakashi remembers these images and can perform the same jutsu providing he have the same type of chakra and able to perform the hand seals. He probably have images of jutsu he can't perform like bloodline limits, but still have knowledge of it.
