2015年6月30日 · This looks like a Vienna movement. If so,I think the lift pin for the lifting lever is probably located on the motion works gear rather than the center shaft minute pipe. Might have a center hand bushing also, which would make the adjustment easier. A picture of the front of the movement and minute hand sure would make it easier to help.

2014年7月13日 · Re: Longcase clock minute hand stuck and not moving forward Well really thought we had cracked it but unfortunately the clock hand has stuck again, it went from 12.00pm through to 6.50pm, it seems to get stuck then at the 10 to as the last time was at 10.50 and now stuck at 6.50 so I really dont know what to do next, such a shame. 2016年6月1日 · The minute hand still mostly stops at the 5 1/2 before the hour mark but the clock otherwise continues to run with the hand frozen in place. If the hand is advanced manually a minute or so, it will chime properly at the hour. The hand is fairly easy to move, so maybe tension as suggested? Sometimes it doesn't freeze but runs normally.

2021年4月22日 · The hour hand and minute hand are snug on the spindles (minute hand has a square hole, and it fits snuggly onto the square spindle) but it just seems like the minute hand is getting "floppy" in a 10-15 minute zone that moves around the clock. When that zone happens to be around the 3 or 9 area, the minute hand sometimes falls downward.

2023年6月25日 · If you are lucky, the hand friction will come from a pinched minute hand pipe. You will have to remove the motion works bridge (one screw) and then slide off the snail/hour hand pipe. This will allow you to see the minute hand pipe. Post a photo of this pipe. Before you do all this, replace the hands and tighten the minute hand nut.

2008年11月4日 · Thanks folks. As you can see, the bushing is stepped. So, to clarify, would it be better to open the hole on the minute hand to the diameter of the top portion of the bushing (the wider part of the bushing would extend over the back of the minute hand)? Or, open the hole so the knurled outer edge of the bushing is entirely inside the minute hand?

2016年9月19日 · The slip clutch is obviously causing the minute hand to be stiff "all the way around" but that has nothing to do with the clock stopping at the same place frequently. In the motion works, if a wheel is bent "like a bicycle wheel" so it wobbles side to side that isn't necessarily going to stop the clock as long as the teeth are not buggered up ...
