A absolutely fantastic and iconic jurassic age ammonite i found and prepared from the yorkshire coast, part of my mega haul the other week!! This has two dactylioceras ammonite and a lovely little shell with a smaller shell on top for good measure. What's interesting about the larger ammonite is if you look closely at between 7 and 9 o'clock the outer whirl has been pushed in closer to the centre. Was this done while the creature was alive as a type of pathology or done during the fossilisation
