Things To Do In Denali National Park: Hiking, Sled Dogs and Moose! On our 2nd day in Denali National Park we started the day by parking in the Visitor Center and doing a 2.4 mile hike on the Rock Creek Trail to get to the Dog Sled Kennel demonstration. Things To Do In Denali National Park: Savage Alpine TrailThe Savage Alpine Trail is one of the best things to do in Denali National Park! We opted to park at the Savage Rest Area and hike 2 miles and 1400 feet up in elevation before turning around and hiking back down. We saw Denali and had amazing views the whole hike. You can also opt to continue the hike to the Mountain Vista Rest Stop and take a free shuttle back to your car at the Savage Alpine Trail head. Note: parking is very limited at t
